Inherited from the Motorola Moto G20

A few months ago we published an article about the Motorola Moto G20, a 6.5-inch large screen phone that stands out for integrating a new low-end Unisoc T700 processor that offers acceptable performance at a very competitive price.

The new Moto E seems to inherit from the Moto G20, but cutting features and costs especially in the cameras, and in the amount of memory and storage. It seemed impossible to cut back on the Moto G20, but Motorola has succeeded, creating three new models for a rather overloaded budget phone market.

The new Moto E have a 6.5-inch screen and a resolution of 720 x 1,600 pixels. They are very similar in size and weigh between 184 and 200 grams. They integrate a Unisoc processor with a maximum frequency between 1.6 and 1.8 GHz. Neither model has NFC or support for 5G networks.

The Moto E20 is the simplest model of all. Unlike the rest of the models, the screen does not have the option to use a refresh rate of 90 Hz.

The Moto E20 incorporates very modest cameras by today's standards, and has only 2GB of memory and 32GB of storage. The reduced memory capacity forces Motorola to install Android Go Edition, a version intended for low-end and ultra-cheap devices.

It integrates the Unisoc T606 1.6 GHz processor, more modest than the Unisoc T700 of the other models. The battery has a 4,000 mAh capacity, 20% lower than the other models, probably due to the lower power requirements of the processor. Thanks to the smaller battery, the phone is slightly thinner and lighter.

The Moto E20 is available in two colors, dark gray (Graphite Gray) and greenish blue (Coastal Blue).

The screen supports a refresh rate of 90 Hz, it has three rear cameras of 48 + 2 + 2 MP and a front camera of 8 MP. It integrates the Unisoc T700 1.8 GHz processor and a larger battery with a 5,000 mAh capacity.

Despite the improvements, it maintains 2 GB of memory and 32 GB of storage, and the Android Go Edition operating system.

The Moto E30 is available in two colors, dark gray (Mineral Gray) and dark blue (Digital Blue).

Conclusions

If you are looking for a 6.5-inch phone that is very inexpensive but from a recognized brand, the Motorola Moto E20 can be a very interesting option. If you are willing to spend a little more, the rest of the models incorporate improvements in each and every one of the aspects and for very little money. Finally, if you want to take a leap in quality but without leaving the budget mobile segment, the Motorola G20 is still a very valid option.
